Top 3 active volcano in the world

Active volcanoes dot the surface of the globe, providing breathtaking vistas of the planet's unadulterated grandeur—when viewed from a safe distance, of course. Here are 10 of the world's most breathtaking volcanoes.

Please be advised that visitors should not attempt to climb active volcanoes without first doing extensive research and planning ahead of time because they are extremely dangerous even when dormant.

1. Eyjafjallajökull, Iceland

Nearly all of Europe was affected by the Eyjafjallajökull eruption in 2010; in particular, a large ash cloud caused a six-day travel disruption for thousands of people. The mountain, which is covered in glaciers and rises to a height of more than 5,400 feet, is located in a region that is regarded as being highly volatile and active. Experienced hikers can obtain a spectacular view from a neighbouring ridge, and it's a well-liked location for helicopter and Jeep tours. You are not the only one who is unsure about how to pronounce it, either.

2. Mount Vesuvius, Italy

Vesuvius, arguably the most well-known volcano in history, is forever associated with the natural catastrophe that submerged the Roman city of Pompeii in ash and claimed thousands of lives, among them the politician and philosopher Pliny the Elder. In addition to its very violent eruptions, Vesuvius is frequently referred to as the world's most dangerous volcano due to the three million or so people that reside in and around Naples, including 600,000 who do so in the so-called "red zone" directly around Vesuvius. Although it hasn't erupted since 1944, some experts suspect that's only because the 4,200-foot giant is preparing for a truly catastrophic eruption. However, you can trek to the top and look into the crater, where steam still emanates.

3. Mount Etna, Italy

This Sicilian volcano, which rises to a height of 11,000 feet, last erupted in March of 2017. It is noted for occasionally generating unusual volcanic smoke rings. Due to its legendary strength, it was formerly said to contain the forge of the deity Hephaestus and act as a prison for titanic monsters.
